JobLab

JobLab is an innovative training suite with classroom space, computers, an interview room, a mock patient room, a kitchen tray line, stock room, and a mock CVS retail space, all housed on the first floor of Spaulding Hospital Cambridge. There is no cost to participate, and employers can get access to trained, employment-ready candidates with abilities trained, supported by and connected to community-based organizations. Among the organizations currently involved are Jewish Vocational Services, MassAbility, Partners for Youth with Disabilities, MAB Works, Work Inc, Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Lesley University's Threshold Program. The goal is to increase partnerships and hire more individuals with disabilities in the coming years.

JobLab goals include:

  • Employment Training: Increase competitive employment outcomes for people with disabilities.
  • Job Retention: Improve function through ongoing support to maintain employment.
  • Business and Government Relationship: Educate and build on expertise and resources that each partner brings to the table.
