Improving Access to Post-Acute Care for People with Severe Traumatic Brain Injury: A Call to Action
November 22, 2024, 9 am–4 pm ET
There is an urgent need to investigate existing policy barriers that compromise health equity and limit access to inpatient rehabilitation facility-based care for persons with traumatic brain injury (TBI). This summit brings together leaders in advancing TBI care and policy makers.
The SH-TBIMS Summit aims to:
- Summarize the state of the science on recovery after severe TBI;
- Promote public awareness of the unmet healthcare needs of persons who have sustained severe TBI;
- Promote efforts to rectify inequities in national healthcare policies that impede access to inpatient rehabilitation facilities for this vulnerable population.
We hope to engage diverse participants, including representatives from federal and state healthcare funding agency, commercial insurance companies, research funding agencies, legislative committees, consumer advocacy groups, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
Admission to the summit is free.
