Persons Served
Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston (SRH) collects and reports information on the results achieved by our patients. This allows our staff to compare the functional improvement of SRH patients to similar patients across the nation.
* Excludes 4 additional outlier cases, which are not included in UDS metrics. Outlier cases are defined as patients that meet any of the following conditions: Age < 6 months or age > 21 years, admission class is "unplanned discharge", discharge setting is "died", length of stay = 0 days or > 365 days
Patients Served by Diagnosis
SRH provides expert care for multiple Rehabilitation Impairment Categories.
WeeFIM Functional Improvement Quality Measures
Multiple metrics are used to determine a child's improvement throughout their inpatient stay. Patients are scored on their admission and again at discharge in the categories of Self-Care, Mobility, and Cognition, which includes multiple skills and abilities as shown in the graphic below. The improvements are measured by the change in score and can be compared with similar facilities. Higher scores are better.
Therapy services are provided at a minimum of 15 hours per week (900 minutes over a rolling 7-day week from admission). All patients receive 24-hour physician and rehab nursing care.
