The Stroke Rehabilitation Program addresses all aspects of post-stroke care, from improving physical and cognitive functioning to regaining essential life skills to enhancing socialization and overall wellness. Donor support enables our expert team provide stroke survivors with the highest level of care at every stage of their recovery.
The Pediatric Rehabilitation Program is tailored to meet the needs of patients with disabilities from infancy to young adulthood. Spaulding is committed to supporting these young patients and their families through these vital services. With donor partnership, we can ensure the long-term success of this essential program.
Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) is the clinical use of music to treat sensory, cognitive, motor, and speech and language dysfunction. Spaulding has integrated these services in both the inpatient and outpatient setting for our patients to reap the benefits of this cutting-edge therapy. Philanthropy would help us sustain this life-changing offering.
As a police officer, Clifton helped load injured people into ambulances following the Boston bombings. His commitment and service would be recognized at Spaulding in July 2013. To his surprise, a decade later, he would come back to Spaulding as a patient after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. “There’s a level of dedication the people have here that is beyond comprehension,” says Clifton.
At 25, Lindsey was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) leading her life down a different path than she ever expected. After a stay at Spaulding Charlestown, she became a participant of our outpatient neurologic music therapy program. “Everything changes when you put music on,” says Lindsey, who credits the therapy with helping improve her balance, speed, and safety—slowing and reversing the typical pattern of MS.
