The Sleep Center Experience at Spaulding Outpatient Center Cambridge
About Your Stay
The attractive furnishings, spacious suites, and comfortable atmosphere of the Sleep Center sets it apart from most other sleep laboratories. Making you comfortable helps minimize the normal stress that many patients experience before undergoing medical testing.
Prior to the sleep study, you will be mailed a questionnaire and directions to the Sleep Center, which is readily accessible with public transportation and offers free parking. You will be asked to arrive at the Sleep Center on the evening of your evaluation. You should check in with the concierge in the lobby, who will direct you to the Sleep Center for further orientation. You will fill out a pre-test questionnaire and have access to a private room to prepare for your test.
During the night, in the relaxed atmosphere of our Sleep Center, your sleep and breathing patterns will be carefully monitored. Since you may be treated with positive airway pressure therapy, the sleep technologist will perform a fitting with habituation to the equipment. The next morning, after you shower and dress, you will complete a morning questionnaire and you may request a meal voucher from your technologist for breakfast in the cafeteria. Our Sleep Center staff intends for you to leave as refreshed as possible and with a positive feeling about your experience.
The diagnostic suites in the Sleep Center are equipped with a television, private accessible bathroom with shower, and a comfortable bed.

Data recorded during your stay in the Sleep Center is gathered, scored, and summarized by our expert Sleep Technicians before interpretation by our Sleep physician. The results are uploaded to your Partners electronic medical record in EPIC and, if your referring provider is outside Partners, faxed to that provider.
