Neurologic Music Therapy
Our Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) Program creates individualized interventions to help you or someone you love affected by neurologic injury or disease. NMT differs from traditional Music Therapy. It is based on cutting-edge neuroscience research of music perception and production. It examines how the brain responds to music and impacts neuroplasticity to help the brain recover from injury in the areas of movement, language and cognition.
Neurologic Music Therapy is the therapeutic application of music to cognitive, sensory and motor dysfunctions due to neurologic disease or injury. Treatment techniques are based upon the scientific knowledge of the profound effects of music on the human brain.
