Our research has revealed that many gait-related injuries are related to faulty mechanics, and that these faulty mechanics can be changed through a process of relearning new motor patterns. Unless the underlying mechanics related to injury are addressed, the risk for reinjury is increased. To schedule an initial running assessment, please call 617-952-6833. There are only a few evaluations available per week due to the in-depth nature of the visit. Follow-up appointments are scheduled after the initial evaluation and are typically covered by insurance.
Dr. Adam Tenforde is the Director of Running Medicine for the Spaulding National Running Center. Dr. Tenforde is board-certified in both sports medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation. He has subspecialty knowledge in running medicine and provides methods to optimize non-surgical management for running injuries. The clinic uses innovative strategies to optimize healthcare delivery and patient convenience, including virtual visits that can be performed from the comfort of home or office.
Dr. Tenforde has the unique perspective of being both a doctor and a former professional runner who was an All-American at Stanford University where he contributed to three NCAA National Team Championships and later qualified for the Olympic Trials. Prior to your visit, you may be asked to complete questionnaires so that Dr. Tenforde can provide a personalized treatment plan. Some follow-up visits can be completed using Virtual Visits, an innovative strategy to complete video-based visits using a computer. These can be conducted in the comfort of your home, office, or other private setting and minimize the disruptions of travel and wait time in the office setting.
