White House Honors Spaulding Rehab And Partners Healthcare At Home Senior Vp Oz Mondejar As A “Disability Employment Champion Of Change”
(Boston, MA)- On Tuesday October 14th at a special ceremony, The White House honored local “Disability Employment Champions of Change” who are doing extraordinary work to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Among those honored was Oz Mondejar, Senior Vice President of Mission and Advocacy at Spaulding Rehabilitation and Partners HealthCare at Home. Oz is one of just ten honorees from across the nation. The ceremony featured U.S. Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez, Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Cecelia Muñoz, Chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Jenny Yang, and other Senior Administration Officials.
Oz was recognized for his role in helping to create the Working Partners Program, a first of its kind public private partnership between Spaulding and Partners HealthCare at Home and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission. The Working Partners Program was created to help remove barriers to employment for people with disabilities.
The Champions of Change program was created as an opportunity for the White House to feature individuals doing extraordinary things to empower and inspire members of their communities. These Disability Employment Champions of Change distinguished themselves by making workplaces more accessible to strengthen the American economy. The event showcased these incredible leaders and their significant contributions to their communities.
Also joining Oz being recognized were David Bartage, the Plant Finance Manager for Procter & Gamble’s Tampax facility, John Ficca, Director of Hands On Educational Services, Dan Hromas a self-employed farmer of York Nebraska, Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Senior Director at Microsoft leading the Trusted Experiences Team (TExT), Angela Mackey a Human Resources Generalist at the Walgreens Distribution Center in Pendergrass, Georgia, Alexandra McArthur a Senior Associate Consultant with the Taproot Foundation’s Advisory Services Team, John Robinson, Managing Partner and CEO of Our Ability, Jennifer Rojas, Inclusion Manager for McLane Company, and Tim Springer, founder and CEO of SSB BART Group.
