Spaulding Boston Honored By Us News And World Report "America's Best Hospitals"
BOSTON - Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital has again been recognized as one the top rehabilitation hospitals in the country, achieving a rank of #5 in the 2012 US News and World Report "America’s Best Hospitals" issue, marking its third straight year as a top 5 hospital. Spaulding continues to be the only rehabilitation hospital in New England ranked each year since 1995.
"Spaulding’s consistent recognition as a top 5 rehabilitation hospital is a result of the commitment to excellence that our staff displays each day. Their unwavering focus on exceeding the highest standards in care, research and teaching has sustained our reputation as one the top rehabilitation providers in the country," said David E. Storto President Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
In addition to its national rankings, for the second year in a row Spaulding was included in the top 10 hospitals in the Boston Metro area, ranking #8 in the US News Metro Rankings list, which ranks hospitals in 94 metropolitan areas across the country. These metropolitan area rankings include a combination of acute and specialty hospitals. Spaulding was the only rehabilitation hospital recognized in the Boston Metro area.
"Our physicians, faculty and researchers at Spaulding take a tremendous amount of pride in this recognition from our peers. The drive of our faculty to create novel treatments and research methods will continue to further Spaulding’s standing as a leader in the field," Dr. Ross Zafonte, Vice President of Medical Services for Spaulding and the Chair of the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Spaulding has maintained and improved upon its standard of excellence in healthcare along with fellow Partners HealthCare hospitals 2012 "Honor Roll" members Massachusetts General, Brigham and Women’s, and highly ranked McLean Hospital, all perennial members on the "Best Hospitals" list.
