Spaulding Hospital Cambridge Honored as 'Employer of the Year'
CAMBRIDGE, MA - Recently, The Community Learning Center (CLC) of Cambridge honored Spaulding Hospital Cambridge (SHC) as their 'Employers of the Year'. The Spaulding Hospital Cambridge Human Resources team partnered with CLC and Cambridge Health Alliance (CHS) on an initiative called the 'Cambridge Healthcare Worker Education Partnership.' The program’s creation at SHC was led by Amie Kravetz and Jack Carroll of SHC Human Resources. The program’s goal is to provide employees a pathway to improve their standing within their own communities with the hope that others will follow their example through education and mentorship opportunities. Cambridge Mayor Maher and other city officials were in attendance and honored the work of SHC.
'This recognition is such a tremendous honor for all of our team at Spaulding Hospital Cambridge. We believe it’s our responsibility to provide our wonderfully talented staff opportunities to share all they know with the community we serve. Its truly a win for everyone as it benefits our neighbors and provides a chance for rewarding service to our staff,' said Oz Mondejar, VP of Human Resources and Community Relations, Spaulding Rehabilitation.
The program at SHC currently has 6 members of staff participating from Food & Nutrition, Nursing and Medical Records Departments. This is year 2 of a 3 year grant. SHC staff mentored 6 of CLC members in areas such as English Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) and Bridge & Workplace Education college preparation courses.
