Vision for the Future: Spaulding Research Institute

One billion people worldwide experience disability – a number that’s climbing – and with it comes the growing realization that disability can and will impact all of us at some point in our lives.

With such a vast need and relatively few federal resources dedicated to rehabilitation research, we believe it’s up to us to close the gap. That’s why we’re establishing Spaulding Research Institute, a new multidisciplinary research enterprise that will play a pivotal role in advancing the understanding of rehabilitation in every generation—locally, nationally, and globally.

Under the leadership of Dr. Ross Zafonte, Spaulding Research Institute is committed to investing in our people and the tools they need to drive progress, so we can unlock the science of recovery and transform the field of rehabilitation medicine.
