(BOSTON, MA) -Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital has again been recognized as one the top rehabilitation hospitals in the country, achieving a rank of #2 in the 2018 US News and World Report “America’s Best Hospitals” issue, climbing two spots to reach its highest rank ever in the survey.  Spaulding has ascended from a #14 position back in the year 2000 and is the only current top 10 rated rehabilitation hospital that has increased its rank so dramatically. “To achieve this prestigious ranking reflects the outstanding skill and excellence of the thousands of dedicated people who are part of Spaulding,” said David E. Storto, President, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. “This validates the commitment we have all made to raise the importance of rehabilitation medicine to be on par with the elite centers of healing in the world.”

Spaulding continues to expand its efforts in advocacy and research and has been recognized as the top overall rehabilitation medicine residency program and highest research output in the country by the Doximity Residency Navigator. Spaulding was also honored by DisabilityIN as “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” with a top score on the Disability Employment Index.

“To be chosen by our peers as a leader in our field is incredibly gratifying and will fuel us to advance our care and science even further for the benefit of our current and future patients and to teach the next generation of rehabilitation professionals,” Dr. Ross Zafonte, Senior Vice President of Research, Education and Medical Affairs for Spaulding and the Chair of the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
