Therapeutic Recreation Services

Recovering from illness, injury or surgery? Therapeutic Recreation services can be a critical, yet enjoyable, part of your care. We work with you to get you back to doing the things you love, and help you discover new recreation and leisure pursuits, by integrating your lifestyle into the treatment process.

Recreational therapy, also known as therapeutic recreation, is a systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions, as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being (NCTRC).

There’s no better way to regain your independence and confidence than by including one-on-one or group activities into your care. Together we’ll focus on community reintegration, adaptive sports, pet therapy and leisure skill development. Whatever it takes to help you feel more like you. If you love tennis, cycling or any number of other activities, our skilled practitioners can get you back to the ones you enjoy by assessing your technique and addressing any physical and/or cognitive limitations.

So, no matter the activity you want to pursue, we will match you to a program to help you achieve your goals. We can also connect you to the Spaulding Adaptive Sports program as well as local community resources to further advance healing.
