Psychology Services
The inpatient Behavioral and Mental Health Service of Spaulding Rehabilitation Network (SRN) is comprised of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and nurse practitioners specializing in the diagnosis and management of the medical psychiatric, emotional, and behavioral problems of those requiring rehabilitation.
Spaulding’s behavioral specialists understand the special needs of patients who have experienced illness, injury or trauma and incorporate therapeutic techniques into the rehabilitation process. The aim is to stabilize you emotionally and psychologically in order to facilitate optimal rehabilitation.
The Behavioral and Mental Health Services continue even after you have left the inpatient setting. Mental health services are also available on an outpatient basis throughout the Spaulding Network and can treat mood, anxiety, adjustment, and chronic pain disorders.
Expertise
Spaulding’s psychiatrists and psychologists are experts in psychopharmalogical management, behavioral management, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, supportive therapy, Integrative and Holistic Therapies, including meditation, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, reiki and energy balancing, for psychiatric and medical-psychiatric issues that arise in both children and adults in the medical and rehabilitation setting.
Service Coordinator
All Spaulding Rehabilitation Network facilities have on-site leadership in Behavioral and Mental Health Services.
Donna Digioia, MD is the Clinical Director of the Behavioral and Mental Health Services for Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston. Dr. Digioia has over 20 years of experience treating patients in a rehabilitation setting.
