Spaulding Neuromodulation Center

Promoting scientific exploration of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques

The Spaulding Neuromodulation Center is dedicated to rigorous scientific exploration that aims to improve physical and mental wellness. Led by Dr. Felipe Fregni, the Center aims to investigate diverse techniques of non-invasive brain stimulation, including the mechanisms of action and their use for rehabilitation and pain modulation.

Neurive Supports Neuromodulation

Felipe Fregni, MD, director of the Spaulding Neuromodulation Center, received a $1.5 million gift from Korea-based Neurive Co., Ltd., to support his team’s pioneering research using noninvasive brain stimulation to treat a wide variety of debilitating conditions from stroke to Parkinson’s disease to chronic pain. The Center is a worldwide leader in the development, application, and teaching of these groundbreaking interventions, which capitalize on the brain’s “plasticity,” or ability to adapt functionally or structurally to change. Neurive’s generous gift will support the Center’s efforts to promote new discoveries into the underlying mechanisms of neural pathways and to advance novel treatments in the field of neuro-recovery.
