The Spaulding Rehabilitation Network provides superior rehabilitative care for individuals who are recovering illness, injury, or surgery. As part of that rehabilitative care, the Spaulding Network provides Therapeutic Recreation services, which aim to include a patient’s previous leisure and lifestyle into the care process.

Our team is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art Therapeutic Recreation modalities to help individuals to return to a life that is as independent and productive as possible.

Through the Spaulding Network, we provide a complete continuum of therapeutic recreation for patients receiving complex medical care and inpatient rehabilitation. Therapy can including one-on-one activities or work in a group setting, and focuses on community reintegration, adaptive sports therapy, pet therapy, and music therapy.

Therapeutic Recreation therapists also educate you and your family on the importance of leisure participation in both the rehabilitation setting and after discharge at home, by facilitating connections to Spaulding’s Adaptive Sports programs as well as community groups.

You and your family have access to an unmatched range of services and programs—from advanced evaluation technologies to evidence-based rehabilitation programs to extensive family and community resources.
