In his role overseeing resident research programs, Dr. Daniel Daneshvar, ROCS Director of Research Training, introduces Spaulding’s Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residents to a world as clinical scientists. Residents are paired with mentors in the department and execute a range of projects during their 3-year affiliations, from literature reviews to novel research generation. Dr. Jeffrey Schneider is an example of an avid mentor, supporting scores of residents over the years on projects such as analyses of large, national datasets.
At the Rehabilitation Outcomes Center at Spaulding, mentorship is integral to our mission.
We hope to continue to match new investigators with seasoned mentors and support that direct relationship within a broader context that fosters growth with opportunities for group collaboration, networking, and peer support.
To date, ROCS has provided mentorship for trainees through several funding opportunities, including the Spaulding Leadership Catalyst Research Fellowship, the Learning Health System Rehabilitation Research Network (LeaRRn) Scholars program, and our affiliation with the MGH Institute of Health Professions. These are excellent examples of funding sources, and we encourage interested trainees to apply.
