We are investigating the psychological and physiological mechanisms underlying chronification of pain, mapping out how pain disrupts the brain and the neurobiology of recovery. A major focus is spinal cord injured patients with and without neuropathic pain, and the role of neuroinflammation and microglia in persistent pain states.
