The Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System is a collaboration of Spaulding, Massachusetts General Hospital, Shriners Hospitals for Children – Boston, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Boston University School of Public Health. It is one of four Burn Model Systems funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) and dedicated to improving the lives of burn survivors.
About Jeffrey C. Schneider, MD
Dr. Schneider is Program Director of the Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System, Medical Director of the Trauma, Burn, and Orthopedic Rehabilitation at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Division Chief of Comprehensive Rehabilitation and Associate Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School. He is also Director of the Rehabilitation Outcomes Group at Spaulding, which utilizes large datasets to examine issues of rehabilitation outcomes and policy. Additionally, his research focus is on long term effects of burn injury. He has published sentinel manuscripts in the field of burn rehabilitation and has authored chapters on burn rehabilitation in authoritative textbooks in the field. As the Program Director of the Boston-Harvard Burn Injury Model System, Dr. Schneider oversees all study activities at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and facilitates all recruitment efforts, data collection, analysis, interpretation of data, manuscript development, and dissemination activities. His work is well-funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research and Department of Defense.
