All of us are experiencing anxiety and isolation arising from the coronavirus pandemic—a situation made harder for anyone recovering from a complex medical condition. Spaulding Rehabilitation Network and SameYou Foundation are teaming up to provide remote options for therapeutic human connection. Our goal is to help individuals who have experienced a brain injury or stroke to recover and thrive safely and remotely with assistance from this six-week course.
Even and especially in a time of crisis, it is vital to identify what is most important to you—and to set and achieve personal goals to live your best life possible as you recover from brain injury and stroke.
PAVING the Path to Wellness™: Emergency Response Edition is a FREE, six-week virtual program for patients with low income who recently experienced a brain and stroke injury. Please note: Maximum enrollment is 30 openings per session due to capacity. See eligibility requirements and registration guidelines below.
PAVING the Path to Wellness™ is facilitated by Dr. Beth Frates, a Spaulding/Harvard Medical School lifestyle medicine specialist, wellness coach, and award-winning teacher whose father experienced a stroke when she was 18. Dr. Frates’s 12-step plan for wellness is designed to help you make positive and long-lasting changes to support your successful recovery and optimal lifestyle, now and moving forward.
Your Wellness Toolkit will help you learn to build a healthy mindset through various lifestyle changes, which include creating a wholesome diet and exercise plan, learning how to enjoy regular sleep patterns, identifying goals important to you now, finding meaning and purpose at this time, and forming powerful personal connections. The one-of-a-kind, holistic PAVING Wellness Wheel assessment tool will demonstrate your current state of well-being and guide your journey to optimal health and recovery.
Spaulding is offering two free Zoom sessions that will run weekly for six weeks.
