Spaulding Hospital Cambridge provides care for patients with serious medical conditions that require intense specialized treatment for several weeks or longer. Our interdisciplinary medical team is composed of highly skilled physicians, nurses, therapists and other clinicians who work together to coordinate and provide specific individual treatments for each patient.

Patient Experience

At Spaulding Hospital Cambridge, satisfaction with your experience is a high priority. Each Spaulding facility and outpatient site seeks patient feedback to continually improve the patient experience.

Spaulding currently utilizes NRC Health to measure the quality of care provided to our patients. Through the NRC survey, we measure our patient’s willingness to recommend Spaulding to friends and family. We are proud to report that our patients rate us with excellent scores in patient experience across many metrics.

Discharge to Community

In addition to providing “excellence in care” we foster an atmosphere that allows and encourages each individual to “Find Their Strength.” In that partnership, the goal of discharge is to work closely with our patients and families to transition home, to a lower setting of care, or to return to acute care for planned ongoing treatment. SHC ranked “better than the national rate” based on Medicare Enrollment and Claims data for July 2019 – December 2019 and July 2020 – June 2021.

Hospital Readmissions

Another indicator of quality care is whether patients require readmission to an acute care hospital within 30 days of discharge from SHC. The most recent data published by Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for July 2019 – December 2019 and July 2020 – June 2021 shows that SHC did “better than the national rate.”
