Pain Management
If you're in pain, it can impact every aspect of your life. We want you to feel like you again. That's why we integrate medical, physical, functional and cognitive-behavioral approaches to pain management. Reducing or eliminating pain, lessens frustration and frees you to participate in the activities you enjoy. Many musculoskeletal pain conditions, including back, neck, and joint problems, may be helped through therapeutic treatments. We use a variety of specialized modalities to enhance mobility and optimize your function while minimizing pain. Drawing on a unique blend of expertise in neurology, rheumatology, musculoskeletal/sports medicine, behavioral medicine and mind-body techniques, we can help you restore function and manage pain related to illness, injury or surgery.
Spaulding's Approach to Pain Management
We empower you by giving you specific tools to return to the activities most important to you. We help by addressing everything that your pain interferes with; your physical functioning, sleep, mood, thoughts, relationships, work, leisure and more.
Following a comprehensive evaluation, our team will develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medical management, therapeutic injections, pain psychology, physical, occupational or speech therapy, or lifestyle modification.

Comprehensive Pain and Function Restoration Programs
Spaulding Outpatient Center Medford and Spaulding Hospital Cape Cod offer the area’s only Comprehensive Pain and Functional Restoration Programs. All treatments are provided at one site and integrate medical, psychological, physical and occupational therapies that stress education, exercise and cognitive behavioral approaches to pain management. Our objective is to help people improve function, better manage pain and enhance their quality of life.
