Adolescent Sports Injury
Spaulding's Adolescent Sports Injury team treats patients aged 12-19. Our physical therapists are specially trained to treat young adults and student athletes to get them back in the classroom, playing on the field and participating in the activities they enjoy. There are unique approaches and needs of this age group and their treatment plan differs from their adult counterparts.
Our team is equipped to diagnose, treat and manage the following injuries in children and teens:
- Sprains and strains
- Fractures and avulsions
- Ligament injuries (e.g., ACL tear, ankle sprain)
- Dislocations
- Cartilage injuries (e.g., cartilage tears in joints)
- Overuse injuries (e.g., stress fractures, tendinitis)
- Apophysitis (growth plate injury)
- Concussions
