BOSTON, MA - Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital has again been recognized as one the top rehabilitation hospitals in the country, achieving a rank of number three (3) in the 2022 U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Hospitals” issue. Spaulding has steadily ascended from a fourteen (14) position in the year 2000, this year achieving its fifth straight top three ranking. Spaulding continues to be the only rehabilitation hospital in New England ranked each year since 1995.

“It is always tremendously rewarding to be acknowledged for our dedication to innovation, education and creating excellent patient outcomes. These results validate our work to foster a dynamic and vibrant environment of healing, discovery, inclusion, and excellence in all we do. It is honor to be joined with others in the Mass General Brigham system to achieve results that reflect our goals to be a leading place of healing and science in the world,” Dr. Ross Zafonte, President, Spaulding Rehabilitation and the Chair of the Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Spaulding continues to expand its efforts on an international level as well as a leader in advocacy and research. The Harvard Medical School Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Spaulding has been the one of the top overall rehabilitation medicine residency programs in the Doximity Residency Navigator. Spaulding was also recently honored by Disability:IN as “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion” with a top score on the Disability Employment Index for the sixth year in a row.

Several other Mass General Brigham hospitals were also honored by U.S. News & World Report. Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital once again earned spots on the Honor Roll among the top hospitals in the country. Brigham and Women’s Hospital is #1 in women’s health, ranked #1 for obstetrics and gynecology in the nation.

Two other Mass General Brigham specialty hospitals – McLean Hospital and Mass Eye and Ear – were recognized for national excellence. McLean Hospital was ranked #1 in the nation for psychiatry. Mass Eye and Ear is #1 for otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat care) and ophthalmology in New England and ranked #4 for both otolaryngology and ophthalmology in the nation.

Mass General Brigham is honored to have five nationally ranked hospitals.

The rankings, now available online, will be published in the magazine’s August issue as part of its 2022-2023 Best Hospitals guide.
