Spaulding's Maureen Banks Selected to Serve on AHA's Section for Long-term Care and Rehabilitation

Boston - Maureen Banks, Chief Operating Officer for the Boston based Spaulding Rehabilitation has been selected to serve on the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Section for Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation Governing Council. The Governing Council advises the AHA on public policy issues of concern to the post-acute and continuing care providers. The twenty four member council represents executives from among the nation’s leading hospitals representing rehabilitation, acute long-term care, skilled nursing, home health and continuing care services.

Banks has been COO of Spaulding Rehabilitation since 2008 and also serves as President of Spaulding Hospital North Shore and Spaulding Hospital Cambridge, both long-term acute care facilities as well as Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Cape Cod an Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF). Prior to those roles she has worked throughout New England as a nursing and healthcare leader in a variety of administrative positions.

The AHA’s Section for Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation represents over 2,000 institutional members of the AHA. The Boston based Spaulding Rehabilitation is a regional and national leader in rehabilitative care with four inpatient facilities, two skilled nursing facilities and twenty-three outpatient centers located throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Banks will serve on the governing council for a two year term.
