Jane Weingarten and her family are major donors of an endowed fund supporting the Dr. Charles H. Weingarten Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program.

"My family and I were inspired to find an almost perfect way to celebrate my husband's legacy as Spaulding's former Director of Primary Care and first Medical Director.
It was my husband's privilege to spend his last years working at Spaulding, in an environment he treasured, among people who offer care that is incomparable. As a physician, he encouraged and, in fact, he urged patients to do their best in improving and healing themselves.
The Dr. Charles H. Weingarten Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program gives participants a unique way to learn new life skills, build self-confidence, and gain and maintain improved health.
We are so proud to support Spaulding's wonderful way of helping people get well, live well and stay well.
It is a privilege to get to know the participants and staff of the program, and to continue to do whatever we can to help this program thrive."
