A new tax-saving opportunity is available for Spaulding donors in 2006 and 2007. A recently-passed legislation called the Pension Protection Act of 2006 ("PPA 2006") allows Spaulding donors 70½ or older to make gifts in 2006 and 2007 using funds from their individual retirement accounts (IRAs and Roth IRAs) without incurring income tax on the withdrawn funds.
2006 Qualification requirements| • | You must be 70½ or older. |
| • | Funds must be transferred directly from your IRA or Roth IRA to Spaulding. |
| • | Donation must be made on or before December 31, 2007. |
| • | Contributions up to $100,000 per year can be made in 2006 and 2007. |
