About Our Research
Go to page controls
Research is an integral component of Spaulding's work. Our PM&R faculty members maintain a vigorous research agenda at the hospital, and collaborate with colleagues at other teaching hospitals and universities. Our research focuses on improving areas of rehabilitation treatment and care, such as: improving neurological or musculoskeletal functions; understanding the effects of physical activity, inactivity, and exercise; evaluating the efficacy and delivery of new treatments; as well as applied research on new technologies.

Current Studies
Current Spaulding research studies include peer-reviewed grants on: aging, motion analysis, spinal cord injury, stroke and traumatic brain injury. Spaulding also participates in numerous clinical trials to study treatments and interventions, supported by pharmaceutical corporations and other healthcare organizations.
