RESTORE Program for Cancer Survivors

Program Focus
At the present time, there are few comprehensive programs that address the many problems faced by cancer survivors. Even successful and minimally invasive cancer treatments can be followed by adverse side effects. More complicated problems often occur with surgery and other treatments.

RESTORE is an unique multi-disciplinary program providing a supportive environment in which men and women who have been diagnosed with cancer, in all stages of treatment and recovery, work with rehabilitation professionals to improve their function and quality of life. At RESTORE we help people feel better, no matter what type of treatment they have undergone.

Treatment
Even before a person begins treatment, we can help to build strength and endurance for the months ahead. We can also help cancer survivors physically feel better even if they had cancer treatment many years ago.

Every patient who enters the program has the opportunity to be evaluated by the specially trained clinicians including, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a lymphedema therapist, a registered dietician, a massage therapist, an osteopath, and a psychologist. Physiatry (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) consultation is also available for those patients who may benefit.

Together, the team will develop a unique program of therapy designed to fit your needs and restore your function and quality of life. (See clinical team)

Additionally, you will leave the RESTORE program with:

A personalized exercise program
Suggested changes to your diet
Other lifestyle modifications.
