Special Training/Certifications: Certificate of Achievement in Pregnancy and Postpartum Physical Therapy (CAPP-OB) from
American Physical Therapy Association, Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars.Clinical Interests: Dance medicine, pregnancy and postpartum care, sports medicine, general orthopedics.
Spaulding's Approach
Spaulding's Dance Medicine Program is led by Lauren Elson, MD and Kester Cotton, PT, DPT, OCS CMPT. Dr. Elson, a physician who specializes in Dance and Performing Arts Medicine and dancer herself. She is board certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Kester serves as Dance Program Coordinator for Spaulding Rehabilitation. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Kester had a remarkable career as a professional dancer. Kester’s career is focused on dancer wellness and he specializes in the prevention and rehabilitation of dance injuries. With years of experience working with dancers and performing artists, Dr. Elson and Kester Cotton, have created a team comprised of:
