Race for Rehab - Boston Marathon®

"Running the Boston Marathon was a life changing event; one that challenged me physically and mentally. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to run twice on the Race for Rehab Team and was warmed by the support of my family, friends and colleagues." - Ann Marie Dwyer, Race for Rehab Team 2010, 2011
On Marathon Monday, a perfect morning turned into a tragic day. We are grateful to report that all of our Race for Rehab team members are safe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, the witnesses, and to all who have been affected by this senseless tragedy.
While this has been an unspeakably difficult and heartbreaking week for all of Boston, and our friends from across the globe, we at Spaulding would like to express our immense pride in our Race for Rehab team and all that they have accomplished. The challenging and often times grueling journey to the starting line of a marathon is one that most will never take. We are grateful to all of our team members for their grit, determination and, of course, their dedication to Spaulding.
If you or someone you know is interested in joining a future Race for Rehab team, please contact Taylor Austin, Special Events Coordinator, at taustin@partners.org.
Running for a Purpose: Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital is proud to partner with John Hancock as part of the 2013 non-profit marathon program. In 2012, 21 members of the Race for Rehab Team raised over $140,000 to support Spaulding's Annual Fund, dedicated to providing support to the hospital's most pressing needs including: patient care, teaching, research and capital improvements. For the past 7 years, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital has successfully recruited more than 100 individuals to run the Boston Marathon in support of the hospital, and has raised over a half a million dollars.
