For more than 15 years, Audiology Services at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Network have improved hearing and quality of life for adults and children.
The Spaulding Network’s audiologists are highly skilled professionals who diagnose and treat hearing loss. They promote healthy hearing, communication competency, and quality of life through education in hearing loss prevention, assessment of hearing loss, and rehabilitation of hearing through hearing aids, auditory function, balance and other related systems.
Our audiologists provide diagnostic evaluation services including:
- Age-appropriate evaluation of hearing thresholds and speech understanding
- Otoacoustic emission measures (to test cochlear function)
- Tests of middle ear function
- Central auditory processing evaluations
We also offer auditory rehabilitation and hearing aids management services including:
- Hearing aid evaluation, sales, repairs
- Real Ear Aided Analysis
- Speech mapping (to accurately set the hearing aids)
Spaulding Outpatient Center Sandwich: Our audiologists are Massachusetts-licensed clinicians also certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). Spaulding Sandwich is an approved Level III Diagnostic Audiology Health Center for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.Sandra Stumpf Reams, AuD, CCC-A, FAAA, is a board-certified Audiologist and member of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and the Educational Audiology Association. Sandra has received many awards for her continuing education in the field of Audiology.
Spaulding Outpatient Center Salem: Our pediatric audiologists have the specialized training, skills, procedures and equipment to obtain information about your child’s hearing. We are proud to be one of only 20 facilities in Massachusetts approved by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) to provide diagnostic audiologic evaluation for children of all ages, including our very youngest listeners, newborns. The MDPH’s rigorous standards assure that our audiologists have expertise in pediatrics, that they use developmentally appropriate procedures, interventions, and normative data, and that our care is child and family oriented. Our staff works closely with families, schools, early intervention programs and other specialists to ensure that you, and the important members of your child’s team, understand the results of your child’s evaluation if a concern is identified.
