BRYANT PARK TO HOST CHARITY SCOOPER BOWL JUNE 1-3

New Yorkers who scream for ice cream will have their every wish granted when Bryant Park hosts the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl® New York, a three-day “fun-raising” charity event that will feature an all-you-can-eat experience from some of the most respected frozen dessert brands in the country.

A Boston tradition for 35 years, the New York debut will showcase dozens of flavors served by top brands including Adirondack Creamery, Baskin-Robbins, Ben & Jerry's, Big Gay Ice Cream, Breyers, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, Coolhaus, Graeter's Ice Cream, Häagen-Dazs, Vice Cream, and Wafels & Dinges (Belgian ice creams), with delicious non-dairy offerings from DF Mavens (vegan ice creams) and SAMBAZON (superfruit frozen sorbets.) Breads Bakery and UnReal Candy will provide toppings.

Scooper Bowl® New York takes place at Bryant Park’s Fountain Terrace (off Sixth Ave. & 41st St.) on Thursday, June 1, Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, from 12 noon to 9 PM each day. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite. Advance tickets will cost $20 per day and on-site tickets will be available for $25 per day.

According to organizer Brooke Biederman, proceeds will benefit the Jimmy Fund, which supports pediatric and adult cancer care and research at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and pediatric care at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, a provider of rehabilitative medicine for catastrophic injury and illness, clinical care, medical education, and advanced research.

Ms. Biederman, 25, first attended the Scooper Bowl® while she was undergoing treatment in 2015 at Spaulding following a boat accident. She thought it would appeal to many other cities. This expansion, with a first stop in New York City in 2017, was the idea pitched to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Bryant Park was chosen for its ability to attract midtown office workers, shoppers, tourists, commuters, and students.

“The Jimmy Fund and Spaulding – and the wonderful people who work at both - devote every effort to fighting life-threatening illness and injury,” said Ms. Biederman. “Bringing Scooper Bowl® to New York will bring happiness to all involved and at the same time, benefit two wonderful organizations. It’s a rare win-win.”
