Advocacy
Advocacy with and on behalf of people with disabilities is core to our mission. We believe everyone deserves access to innovative, comprehensive care and a say in their health and well-being.
A voice for the rights of people with varying abilities
Advocacy takes many forms across the entire continuum of patient care. For example, we promote efforts that connect individuals with disabilities with resources and supports to remain safe and healthy following discharge, including support groups as well as clinical care. We embrace the concepts of universal design, as installed at our state-of-the-art facility in Charlestown. Spaulding Rehabilitation is a leader in workforce development for people with disabilities. We also work to enhance the communities we serve through legislative advocacy.
-
Adaptive Sports
We have centers dedicated to enabling adults and children of all abilities to lead active, healthy lives through adaptive sports and recreational activities.
-
Council on Disability Awareness
The Council on Disability Awareness (CDA) comprises employees from throughout Spaulding Rehabilitation and Mass General Brigham Home Care to promote and empower people with disabilities.
-
Disability Employee Inclusion Alliance Employee Resource Group (ERG)
We aim to be the employer of choice for all employees with all apparent and non-apparent disabilities. The Disability Employee Inclusion Alliance ERG is open to employees of Mass General Brigham, including Spaulding Rehabilitation. People with disabilities and people without disabilities (allies) are welcome to get involved.
-
